Krishna Aesthetic: In life, religion can be one of the most important things to a person. There are many different kinds of religion in this world and people who follow a particular religion also have a name for themselves. While religion is mostly based on ancient sayings and ways of worship, the common agenda for every religion is to spread peace, harmony and compassion between people for each other as well as for other beings. There are many different religions in this world, each having their own gods. While in a lot of these religions a single god is worshipped, in many other religions, multiple gods and goddesses are worshipped. One such religion, where multiple deities are worshipped is Hinduism.
Hinduism is one of the most ancient religions in the world, dating back to thousands of years. It originated in India, and though most of the Hindus still live in India only, with globalization, Hinduism has managed to migrate in other countries as well. As Hinduism in itself is a very diverse religion, there are several small communities of people who worship certain deities. Ramayan and Mahabharat are the two most important epics of Hinduism, but there are many other religious texts as well.
Krishna Aesthetic
In Hinduism, there are three principal gods who are considered as the principal gods of heaven. They are Bhahma, Vishnu and Maheshwar. Lord Vishnu is often considered as the supreme being within Vaishnav Dharma, and he is the God of Preservation. He is also the husband of Laxmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Lord Vishnu has ten incarnations, each one emerging in different timelines to destroy evil.
Krishna is one of the most popular incarnations of Vishnu in Hinduism.
- A lot of us already know the birth story of Shri Krishna. Lord Krishna was born to Devaki and Vasudev in Mathura, which was then ruled by Kans. On the day of Devaki and Vasudev wedding, it was prophesied that their 8th son will kill king Kans, due to which Kans killed all of their children. When Lord Krishna was born, Vasudev took him to Gokul and left him under the care of Yashoda and Nanda. He grew up to be well-loved by everyone, and eventually when the time came, he defeated Kans.
- Lord Krishna is regarded as the supreme being in Vaishnava dharm, and there are many Hindu religious festivals that are said to be associated with him. Two of these festivals which have a great amount of significance are Janmashtami and Holi. Janmashtami is the festival where the birth of Shri Krishna is celebrated. In places where Krishna is principally worshipped, it is a very big and prosperous festival. Holi, the festival of colours, is regarded as a festival that originated from Krishna’s Rasleela.
